The office of District 34 Assemblywoman Britnee N. Timberlake is looking for interns!

 

Job Description

This is a great position for a student seeking a career in political science or government. It is an ideal internship for a high school student or current undergraduate student. As an Intern, he/she will assist the legislative staff on various projects and tasks to gain experience on how the New Jersey legislature operates.  He/She will have the opportunity to assist in constituent outreach and manage correspondence with organizations and advocacy groups. He/She will also have the opportunity to work on short- and long-term research projects, and assist staff with various administrative tasks and special projects. This is a great opportunity to enhance skills in organization, multi-tasking and communications. Hours are flexible, allowing students to accommodate their school & work schedules.

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Great in both a team and individual setting
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt
  • Have basic knowledge of MS office suite: (Word, Outlook & Excel)
  • Have strong communication skills (with an emphasis on writing skills)
  • Although all students are encouraged to apply, priority will be given to applicants from District 34: (Clifton, East Orange, Montclair, Orange).

 

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship opportunity. However, we will work with your university to help you obtain academic credit, if applicable.
